THE OPEN PAGES INITIATIVE
Founded in 2023 as a humble initiative by a Nigerian family who emigrated to the United States,
OPEN PAGES INITIATIVE is built on a foundation of service and deep respect for human rights.
It was created to address educational poverty in rural communities in Nigeria to improve their
access to educational resources, that will enable them to learn and develop to achieve their full
potentials. Some of our activities also extend to individuals in socially disadvantaged districts in
the United States who need support. In short, OPEN PAGES INITIATIVE was born to give the
power of reading to those who need it most.
As a registered non-profit organization in the United States, with a 501(c)(3) status, OPEN
PAGES INITIATIVE that has a mission to inform, educate and empower young minds. Our team
comprises of experienced educators and volunteers from both Nigeria and the United States.
Over the years, there have been significant overall decline in education in Nigeria, especially in
the poorly funded public schools. Children in rural communities are most affected because their
opportunities are extremely limited. Additionally, many teachers in these communities lack the
skills to effectively educate the children. Open Pages Initiative Foundation concentrates its
efforts to empower and amplify communities most affected by educational inequities, thereby
driving our impact.
Our Mission
Our mission is to support the elementary and secondary education in very poor communities by implementing sustainable solutions that will address their unique challenges. Through
collaborative efforts with local stakeholders, governments, and international partners, we aim to improve infrastructure, provide teacher training and support, ensure the availability of
educational resources, and foster community engagement. Our mission is to empower children in these communities with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities they need to break the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future for themselves and the society.
Our Vision
Our vision is to create a future where children in resource limited settings have access to quality
education in an environment that would support their learning, thereby enabling them to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities and the
society.
