PROGRAMS
The Open Pages Initiative offers a variety of programs aimed at providing free educational resources and training to underprivileged communities in Nigeria. Our programs cover a wide range of subjects, including social studies, science, math, literature arts, art, and physical education.
Providing free educational resources
Our nonprofit organization provides free educational supplies to children in resource limited
schools. We firmly believe that access to quality education is a fundamental right that should
never be hindered by financial constraints. In these underprivileged areas, many children lack
the basic resources necessary for their educational journey. By offering free educational
supplies, such as textbooks, stationery, and learning materials, we aim to fill this gap and
empower these children with the tools they need to thrive academically.
Skills development and Training
OPEN PAGES INITIATIVE prioritizes investment in empowering talented educators with the
skills they need to provide excellent education. When we provide training and support to
teachers in rural communities, we make them more efficient in transforming the young minds
that they teach. We want the children in these communities to be able to pass standardized
tests and assessments that will take them to their next level of learning. We want teachers and
their support staff to enjoy the work they do.
Providing free lunch to school children
OPEN PAGES INITIATIVE helps communities by looking for school meal sponsors that can
provide free meals to students. We also support farm to school programs that provide access to
nutritious meals while supporting local farmers and communities. In addition, we support
schools in building their own self-sustaining gardens.
Infrastructural Development
Developing infrastructure that support learning is a huge and capital-intensive undertaking.
OPEN PAGES INITIATIVE supports communities by rehabilitating existing facilities, engaging in
minor de novo projects, and aiding the development or procurement of other projects that may
directly or indirectly improve the learning environment for students and the communities at
large.
Community engagement
Our approach to community engagement involves fostering relationships and forming
collaborations with students, families, local governments, grassroot organizations and influential leaders at various levels. By doing so, we create awareness about the specific needs of the community, and devise ways of solving the problems, while recognizing the peculiar roles of
these groups.
Advocacy for equitable education
OPEN PAGES INITIATIVE employs a holistic and comprehensive approach to addressing
barriers to equitable education. We study communities and identify their needs and the
obstacles and challenges affecting the youth. We then develop innovative approaches that can be implemented to address those problems while advocating for improvement in policies and
practices that hinder development in the educational sector.
